IT services for manufacturing companies that cannot stop the line.
In a plant, technology failure is a production event. The computing around the line is not office equipment that can wait for a ticket queue: when it stops, the operation stops with it.
Surya standardizes and operates that layer as a product, inside a boundary that is written down before anything is enrolled.
/ What fails
What actually breaks on a plant floor.
- HMI workstations, where an operator loses the interface to the process.
- Edge and engineering PCs that hold the supported computing around production equipment.
- The line's network: edge, switching, wireless, segmentation and the connections the operation depends on.
- Plant-floor endpoints, printers and the peripherals a shift relies on to record work.
- Firewalls, plant networks and on-prem servers, where a single component takes the site with it.
Surya covers the computing that supports production equipment, not the machine. That distinction is the whole basis of the coverage.
/ Cannot stop
What "cannot stop" means in a plant.
It means the failure has a physical consequence measured in shifts, runs and shipments, so the recovery has to be prepared in advance rather than assembled afterwards. Every site runs released profiles, so behaviour is predictable and a supported component can be replaced without the original designer. Where the released Endpoint profile calls for physical recovery, a replacement you own is prepared and held at the site before it is needed.
Standardization makes site technology more predictable to operate and to recover. It is not a guaranteed repair time, and Surya does not publish a recovery-time guarantee. Surya also does not control carrier repair, building power or production machinery.
/ Fabric and the boundary
Surya Fabric and the OT and CPS line.
Surya Fabric is the standardized site network and the defined security boundary: approved edge, switching, wireless, segmentation, connectivity and a tested recovery procedure. Where the operational layer is in scope, it extends across the IT and OT boundary.
- Asset visibility for operational and cyber-physical systems, delivered with Claroty
- Network segmentation between the business environment and the operational environment
- Monitoring of the segmentation boundary and the paths permitted across it
- A defined recovery procedure for the supported network components on either side
- Evidence of what is connected, what changed and what was denied
Surya is a Claroty partner. Claroty supplies the operational and cyber-physical systems platform; Surya designs the segmentation boundary, deploys and integrates the platform, and operates the result under Surya Control as part of Surya Fabric.
Surya does not perform PLC programming, ladder logic, process engineering, controls engineering, production engineering or machinery optimization, and does not take responsibility for production equipment or its safety systems. Claroty licensing is a customer requirement where the OT capability is in scope.
/ Surya Critical
Surya Critical for plants.
Surya Critical covers the specialized devices that stop production, revenue or care when they fail. Coverage is quoted separately, by device class, after the critical device audit.
- Firewalls. Quoted separately.
- Plant networks. Quoted separately.
- On-prem servers. Quoted separately.
- PLC and HMI computing. Quoted separately.
A device enters that coverage when it passes the qualification tests: does its failure stop or materially disrupt production, can the supported setup be defined and reproduced reliably, and can trained site staff replace it through a controlled runbook without a specialist physically present.
